What does it do?
It stops drive-offs by allowing pay inside privileges only to trustworthy customers. The application activates when a customer presses the Pay Inside button at the dispenser.
It prompts at the dispenser for the Pay Inside Privilege Card, which the customer inserts into the card reader. Midax then checks the database and if the customer is good, a message is sent to the pump to authorize the pump for fueling. If the customer’s record is not good, another payment method is suggested.
To apply for a card, you need to present your driving license to the cashier. The D/L is swiped through a card reader attached to the application’s PC. That populates the database record. Then a new card is swiped, which is connected to that customer. It is as simple as that: 2 card swipes.
Then, should a card be used and that driver drive off, the cardholder and transaction details are available for you to take your own action.
Where can it be implemented?
The Pay Inside Privilege Card can be implemented in branded as well as in unbranded sites. It can be implemented with any Dresser Wayne or Gilbarco pump in conjunction with a Ruby, or a Ruby and Sapphire.
How does it connect up?
We supply a black box, called a C3, which you connect up to the 2 lines that connect the Ruby to the D-box or PAM. A further connection in this C3 is an Ethernet cable to your in-store PC. That PC needs a mag stripe reader connected to it, to read the D/L and activate new cards. That PC is connected locally to a router and via a DSL or cable connection, to the Midax server. The Pay Inside Privilege Card application itself runs on that server and the data is stored securely on that server.
When you connect to the Midax server for the first time, the local Midax workstation program is downloaded into your PC. That program allows you to maintain your data, ad new customers, issue cards, enquire, run reports and so on.
What about the cards themselves? Where do I get them?
You can source your cards from any printer, in which case, we liaise with them to ensure correct card encoding. Alternatively, we have a standard template we have printed up in bulk, which reduces the cost of the card substantially. We allow a place for you to place your company name and logo on the card.
What does it cost?
The Midax Pay Inside Privilege Card program costs $750 per site to install and a monthly rental per site of $125. That includes all software updates as well as all maintenance, support and online assistance. No transaction fees. No additional fees. On site installation assistance can also be provided at an extra charge.
