What does it do?
It allows you to issue pre-paid cards, which you can redeem at the dispenser or in the store. Selling these cards to your customers, ideally for cash or check, will enable you to avoid your customers paying by credit card. That eliminates the credit card fee! Look at your credit card bill and imagine being able to move just 15% of those transactions onto a pre-paid card.
So how do you get the customer to carry another piece of plastic? GIVE MORE VALUE!
- To encourage your customers buy these cards, with Midax, you can add value to the card so that the customer gets extra bucks on his card - less than you would otherwise have paid the major in credit card fees, but enough to make it pay for your customers. The gift card or pre-paid card!
- Selling to local companies in bulk on a special deal also buys you a competitive edge
- Alternatively, you can have a donation function associated with the card, so the extra bucks go to the customer’s favored church or school charity, instead. The scrip card!
- Selling in bulk to schools and churches also buys you a competitive edge and customer loyalty
- You can also have multiple cards access the same account: the family card!
- The card can run in a single store or across a range of stores. That could be a chain with common ownership or a marketing banner group: a brand card!
- It could be an association of different ownerships, where you can use Midax settlement to balance the books between stores: a city card!
- Band together to force the profile of the card across all local gas stations you want to work with.
- You can mix and match programs: there are an infinite number of templates available.
- In all cases, balance enquires on the card, with current balance and transaction history are available.
- Safer than cash: a card can be flagged as lost or stolen and re-issued with all balances transferred.
You bank the cash; the Midax maintains your liability for accounting purposes and applies escheatment rules on unclaimed card amounts; you enjoy the breakage.
Where can it be implemented?
The Midax pre-paid card can be used at the dispenser or in the store. It can be implemented in branded as well as in unbranded sites. It can be implemented with any Dresser Wayne or Gilbarco dispenser in conjunction with a Ruby, with a Mannatech interface, or a Ruby and Sapphire.
How does it connect up?
You connect the Mannatech port from the Ruby/Sapphire to a PC you have on site. It need not be dedicated to the Midax application, but it needs to be XP with 1GB of memory and at least 10 GB of disk capacity.
This PC connects locally to a router and via a DSL or cable connection, to the Midax server. The pre-paid card application itself runs on that server and the data is stored securely on that server.
When you connect to the Midax server for the first time, the local Midax workstation program is downloaded into your PC. That program allows you to maintain your data, enquire, run reports and so on.
What about the cards themselves? Where do I get them?
You can source your cards from any printer, in which case, we liaise with them to ensure correct card encoding. Alternatively, we have a standard template we have printed up in bulk, which reduces the cost of the card substantially. We allow a place for you to place your company name and logo on the card.
What does it cost?
The Midax pre-paid card program costs $250 per site to install and a monthly rental per site of $125. That includes all software updates as well as all maintenance, support and online assistance. No transaction fees. No additional fees. No matter how many card types you run.
