Offline Processing
What happens when the inevitable breakdown or communications loss occurs. The result is often mass chaos at store level. Receiving slows to a stop, customer lines begin to backup because credit runs slow, and you are unable to send orders.
Midax applications anticipate the inevitable and occasional breakdown in systems and communications. Your business continues to operate as usual!
- EFT Switching – credit services
- EFT Switching – check authorization
- EFT Switching – gift, loyalty, and charge authorization
- CAO / CGO – computer assisted ordering servives
- Central store receiving.
Each of these services runs in offline mode to continue your store operation seamlessly
Online, Midax at store level routes each transaction either to the Midax central server for in-house processing or to the provider for generic cards. In preparation for a drop in communications, the Midax host constantly refreshes a backup of the host files on the in-store backup processors so if there is a communications loss, Midax kicks in at the in-store level and processes offline.
For in-house programs, that means each customer’s open limits and balances.
For credit, Midax monitors the payment level and payment success of each card, and applies an offline limit that reflects an individual’s payment history. All transactions processed offline are automatically stored and forwarded to the Midax host when lines are re-established. Midax then force posts the generic cards, updates the in-house payment programs and carries on broadcasting.
The process of going offline in-store and online again is automatic. You appreciate it and so does your customer!
