Reporting

Midax offers the convenience store operator a CORE Application, an interactive Data Warehouse specifically developed for the single operator up to a strong regional independent chain. It operates much in the same manner as the standard supermarket module.

The similarities between the convenience store chain and the grocery chain are that inside store sales are identical in principle, although the one has a much smaller product range and the virtual shopping basket is smaller.

As such the principles for receiving, computer assisted ordering and perpetual inventory are the same and thus the pages on this website equally cover the needs of either retail type.

A further similarity is the distributed nature of the business, with its ensuing need to capture data from all stores and then consolidate centrally in a timely manner, without taking up a store manager’s time or burdening the fax machine. What Midax does to capture and consolidate reporting for the grocery store, it does equally well for the convenience store chain.

A grocery store parts company from a convenience store on gas. We are now talking about a sensitive product stored in bulk in underground tanks, which is mixed on the fly and is liable to expand or contract as temperature conditions change and by the way, those tanks can leak whatever temperature it is.

We therefore need an additional level of reporting to control the sales, the mix and the inventories, not just to provide compliance reporting but to run the business order product on time and change prices wherever, whenever, on demand. So in addition to the database feed we take in a grocery store, we have 2 additional feeds in a convenience store: the dispensers themselves and the Veeder Root tank monitor.

Specifically designed fro the convenience retailer, this extra functionality may and often is of use to the supermarkets selling gas as well. The Midax modules work equally well in both environments.

And remember this, all data captured is stored in its original form, so if the data is there, we can report on it how you wish. All the canned reports you would need to run a convenience store chain are there, for instance, buy/sell reports, payroll vs sales, inventory ranking, tank inventory, PR/MOP totals, compliance reports and so on.

Except, with Midax, the data will have been captured automatically and they will all have been generated by the system, ready for your attention, when you are available.
