Who Pays for the Discounts?
With our competitors, it is all too often it is you, the merchant, who pays! And that is why certain merchants have seen little benefit in giving away their bottom line for no increase in business volume. With Midax, it is the vendor who pays through promotional funds: Midax customers following this golden rule increase sales by around 15% and spend less promotional dollars than they did before!
First, in grocery:
- There are programs out there that allow the grocer simply an ability to give his profits away in the form of a discount if the customer buys a certain value, $50, $100, whatever.
- While you can do that in Midax, we ask the question, why should the grocer pay, when there are vendors out there with promotional funds that should be stumping up for this bonanza?
- Midax tracks each line item reward, so at the end of a period, you can see in Midax which customers bought which products from which vendors. From there it is a small step to see which promoted items were bought from that vendor. Sound familiar? It should do, as it is your scanning report.
- Through this line item real-time rewarding and monitoring of the rewards, Midax has simply made fuel discounting another tool for your marketing department to channel vendor funds, as effectively as they can, to drive up sales.
Thus with Midax Loyalty, your vendors pay, with our competition, all too often, it is you, the grocer, who pays.
Second, in the C-Store:
- Aside from the obvious advantage Midax brings in enabling the C-store to simultaneously run its discreet rewards program, quite separately from the grocery program, the C-store operator can enjoy further benefits that directly address his transaction fees.
- With Midax loyalty in place, funded by your vendors in your own discreet program or through a grocery partner store and their vendors, you will probably be discounting gas heavily: discounts of 50 cents or more are quite common!
- So this is where you as a C-Store operator get a second bite of the cherry. Your credit card fees are based on the value of the transaction. That just went down a chunk. So, therefore, will your credit card fee.
- And as you will have more loyalty customers, this is the time to look once again at alternative payment types to reduce those transaction fees.
The good news is, with Midax in place, you also get to enjoy the other features of the Midax program, gift card, scrip card and the ACH Checkcard.
